The Character
Country Name: Austria
Human Name: Roderich Edelstein
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: He is described as a well-spoken, young master type, who was initially aloof until he was saddled with too many burdens. He gives higher priority to his hobbies rather than his work, and is more optimistic and quiet in comparison to Germany who is more serious and work-oriented. He also likes to keep his temper, though if someone does cause him to lose it, it would probably have taken a while and that person would've already done something unforgivable to him.
He speaks in tongues other than his own, as he has found a strange liking to Spanish, Italian and German. He has been trying his best to master the three languages, but does mess up once in a while. When he tries to correct himself, he does so in English rather than the language he messed up in.
He also expresses his ultimate frustration via piano. He almost always uses Chopin to express his anger and utter disgust over matters, but always stops on a low part and basically says that they should get the idea before leaving. He's actually rather introverted near strangers, but should he notice someone throwing away half-eaten food, he'll think to himself as to why anyone would waste such good food, or good anything. He would never actually walk up to them and apprehend them, as he has more respect for other person's personal space. He minds his own business as well, simply sighing or trying his best to ignore strangers who waste food or items.
Around friends he is the aloof type, usually straight-faced and calm; only joining in when he has something to say on the matter at hand. He speaks to his friends as calmly as possible, since he usually tries to get a point across while in meetings, or a topic started in more private conversations.
In bad situations he'll continue to walk along and wonder how best to escape the situation he is currently in. Though help would be much appreciated, he would usually like to do it alone to avoid awkward scenes in which a 'thank you' would come out oddly. If he feels uncomfortable, though, he tries his hardest to get out in any way possible, thinking quickly to escape the situation.
When he's in a decent situation he will be somewhat open, friendly and trying to of course be funny as well. Especially if he is around trusted friends. However, if he was in a decent situation around strangers, he would take in mind the setting and level of desperation surrounding him, and those strangers and act accordingly. Usually he chooses to ignore strangers, unless some natural disaster was happening and he had to depend on them as they did him.
He's usually passive about small faults, brushing them off if they don't hit too close to home. However, there are some instances where brushing the 'fault' off is just too good for the action done. Most of the time with these personal attacks, he will respond with force, and hold a grudge forever. For example Prussia taking Silesia from him or the Serbians assassinating the Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
When he's alone... Well, he makes music when he's alone. He's quiet, calm, and concentrated. Other than being alone, he's also silent and calm around Canada, mainly due to his rather strong similarities with the otherwise unnoticed man.

Strengths:
+Close-Quarters Combat (Sword only, though should he lose his sword he will most likely punch the attacker until he finds something that resembles a sword in either shape, or length. (I.E: Pipe, Table Leg, etc.))
+Sensitive Hearing (mainly used to hear small sounds, as most people with an ear for music should be able to hear somewhat well (Exception: Beethoven))
+Quick Thinking, though everyone has this, it can be a saviour in tight situations requiring a quick turn a certain way, or even an instant switch in direction.
+Reliance on Friends. He does rely on friends to cover some of his major weaknesses, thus meaning his friends are one of his many major strengths.
+ Lack of Direction. Yes, he could get lost and that would put him at a disadvantage, however he could stumble upon something no one else has found, or find someone who knows the way back to a familiarish location for Austria.
Weaknesses:
-Long-Range attacks
- Magic, any type
- Puts others before himself
-Lack of a weapon, such as a sword, pipe or table leg as they are not readily available at all times anywhere.
- Quick Thinking. Though it is good, it is also bad. Quick-thinking can lead him into a corner, or into a trap where he would quickly be overcome by the dangers present.
- Lack of direction, as he can quickly become lost in the mansion. This leads him into bad situations most often times when he is alone rather than with someone.
-Reliance on Friends. This can also be a weakness by a friend bailing out last second, leaving Roderich open to a plethora of attacks or other things. This is probably where trust would become an issue, if Roderich survived an attack or somehow found the deserter friend again at a later time (in a single loop of course)
Sample Post: Silence. The deafening roar of the lack of sound. It's all Roderich could think about as he tried desperately to remember. Remember what? Who knew. Eventually Roderich would give up, sighing as he grabbed his cake and small fork from his desk, the small chink of metal against porcelain enough to make him smile at the sound. Sound. The very essence of beauty when mixed correctly with an orchestra, or a very good Piano and Violin. A vocal ensemble is acceptable as well, especially when they sing the correct notes in correct pitch. Otherwise, he couldn't stand sound. It was a love/hate relationship between him and sound, most of the time it was love, some of the time it was hate. The sun played pleasantly on his grand piano, where he had been spending the last few days writing a new song, a new mixture of sound, something everyone outside could enjoy. As he created his next score, he had heard others outside playing the most disgusting mixture of sound and voice ever. They enjoyed it, but he did not. He closed his windows, every day around the same time just to block out the incorrect mixture of sound flowing inside of his home.
As time progressed he found himself dozing off, his cake untouched and silence settling around him once more. Something about the silence made him unbearably tired, as his lids slowly closed over violet eyes. He began dreaming in vivid color, of sound playing beautifully as it had before, of sweet, addictive symphonies being played in front of entire audiences...
"When would music ever be the same..? " He mumbled, both in his dream and out loud.
He awoke with a start, finally having remembered what he had struggled for so long earlier to remember. He nearly jumped from his chair, spilling his cake and breaking the plate it sat so neatly upon. He sat the cake down, and tried his best not to rush as he sat down at his piano, flipping through the pages of the musical score he had been composing for so long. He smiled serenely at the blank measures before him and hastilly scribbled in the missing notes and rests, giving a sigh of relief as he finally remembered the final parts to his song, a song about sound. Sound, in all of it's beauty and imperfect mixtures. Something everyone would enjoy no matter what musical preference they had.
The perfect song, now finished after so long having been forgotten by it's composer, sat on its stand. It was ready to be played at a moment's notice. Roderich took the few moments after having finished his score to reflect on it. He couldn't help but think of the long grueling process, the nights he'd stayed awake playing different notes to find the right ones. It was all completely worth it.
Looking back, he suddenly remembered something else. The main reason for even starting this difficult peace in the first place. It was for her, an old friend who no longer looked at him quite the same any more after his fall from grace. He sighed sadly, before forcing a smile as he looked at the notes he so hastily scrawled across the pages.
"Now, let's see if you were truly worth the hassle..." He slowly stretched out his fingers as he peeked over his newest composition before playing it, letting the melody trickle out into the streets of his beloved town.
