The Character
Country Name: Somalia
Human Name: Aziza Nyhad
Gender: female
Appearance: Nicknamed the 'torn one' by her fellow nations Somalia appears as a beautiful young lady but has a series of off putting physical features that make her appear almost as intimidating as she actually is. Her flesh is a light golden brown color and appears to be wrapped so tightly around her bones that one may think that her skin would tear open at any moment, this gives her a malnourished appearance. Her face is marred by a network of intersecting scars, gashes, and wounds starting at her forehead and traveling down her body. Obsidion colored hair trails behind her, long and flowing like a cape made from pure shadows, reaching past her shoulders and down to the middle of her back. Grassy green eyes adorn her face, sparkling with intense ferocity and rage with just a hint of sorrow mixed in.
Personality:
Somalia is considerably one of the world's most violent and poor countries, lacking in the money needed to feed herself and constantly getting into fights. She has a temper like that of a volcano, it only takes a little trigger to make her explode in a fit of rage, when this happens she will sometimes take her dagger, or any object that can be used as a weapon and start hitting a wall with it in order to keep from attacking the other nations. It is rare to see her smile, it only ever really occurs when she sees something gut wrenchingly horrible in which case she may be found laughing her head off or licking her lips as though she were watching somebody make a delicious kind of food.
When calm Somalia has a typically displeased look on her face and will often times cross her arms while holding her head up high as though she were full of herself. She has been known to speak to other countries in a tone that is sickly sweet and oddly disturbing when calm and other countries can find a slight smirk playing at her lips when she speaks like this. Preferring to be alone most of the time, Somalia will travel with at the most two other countries when travel is necessary, however a good portion of the time she can be found skulking around in a room all alone or walking a good distance behind a few, much smaller countries. There have been some suspiscions as to why she does this, other countries have seen her many times before stalking along behind them with a solemn expression on her face. Nobody really knows why she does this but it is believed that she is actually a very motherly country, trying to keep the weaker countries safe the way a mother would protect her child.

Somalia curled up next to her twin heaving a sigh of relief. "I've missed you so much sister! I really thought you were going to be gone forever when big brother told me you were dead. I'm so glad you're still alive, now I don't have to be alone anymore!"She practically purred with happiness, looking up into her sister's steadily paling face.
"Promise you'll never leave me again okay sister?" Somalia urged, hoping to hear her sibling's voice again. Her twin just turned away, a sorrowful expression on her face as she began to speak "I'm sorry Somalia but..... I-I....." She began.
Somalia's eyes were filled to the brim with confusion. "You what Somaliland?"She asked in that sweet voice of hers. She watched her twin as she writhed for a second before she jumped up. "I want my independence!" She exclaimed, an unexplainable feral look in her eye as she eyed Somalia darkly.
Somalia merely stared blinking with confusion before her eyes filled with tears. "Y-you want to leave me a-all alone again!? W-why do you alwa-ways have to do this kind of thing to me?! Fine have your independence, get beaten up by other countries, see if I care."She sobbed running from the room.
--------
When Somalia awoke from her dreams of the past she found herself unable to keep from crying. Her sister was the only person who was able to help her. When she was around Somalia felt needed, she was always able to find a way to overlook the horrid damage that her civil war was doing to her because she knew she had to take care of her sister.
She left though, she knew Somalia needed her but she left anyways. Her sister had told her that she would be able to get through the war without her. Oh if only she knew just how wrong she was, maybe she wouldn't have left, but she did and Somalia fell into turmoil soon after.
